Hello,

My name is Thorpe Griner. I am an event, sport and lifestyle photographer based out of Denton Texas. I live life by the motto, "Photography on Location". I prefer getting out and exploring, meeting new people, and observing the world through my lens, rather than working in a studio. Whether it's portraits, landscapes, wildlife or sporting events... the best way to capture the real feeling of it all is to be there, on location. And being there is what drives me as a photographer. The greatest thing about photography is being able to capture that split second in life, that view no one else has had or that smile you want to remember forever. I bring along my eye for detail and creativity every time I leave home with my camera.

You may have noticed by looking at my work, very few of the photographs look exactly how they would look to the human eye. This is no accident. By making the real, surreal… by making the ordinary, un-ordinary… scenes from everyday life take on an all new look and meaning. To me, photography is a tool to transform the world around us into a feeling or an emotion.

As I look through my cameras lens, this is how I see the world. Rich, deep colors and textures, dramatic skies and high dynamic range lighting are what I enjoy about photography. It’s an amazing form of artistic expression where a blend of math, creativity and technology, come together to produce a window into another world.
